TEMPORARY HELP FOR BUILDINGS & GROUNDS
Qualifications:
1.
Possess thorough knowledge of materials, methods and practices used in Buildings & Grounds.
2.
Effectively operates Buildings & Grounds equipment.
4.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all staff and the public.
5.
Uses/operates computer equipment related to the position/job.
6.
Communicates effectively.
7.
Demonstrates proficient use of English language in written and oral forms.
8.
Able to lift and move moderate loads (40-60 lbs.
) on a regular basis and heavier loads (60-100 lbs.
)on less frequent basis.
REPORTS TO:
Buildings & Grounds Leadership TeamPOSITION
Summary:
The extra help position is responsible for keeping a District building and immediate building groundsclean, safe and presentable.
Other duties may be assigned that include; but are not limited to workingoutdoors and helping with minor projects.
This work could be in the Grounds, Custodialand/or Maintenance Departments.
This work could be additional or substitute work.
Essential Functions:
1.
Dusts furniture, cleans, washes floors, walls and carpeting.
2.
Cleans washrooms, including replenishment of towels, soaps and tissue.
3.
Keeps track of janitorial supplies and reorders as necessary.
4.
Mows lawns and removes snow.
5.
Works with office staff in coordinating activities and usage of the building.
6.
Ensures proper use of appropriate safety equipment and procedures by work crew.
7.
Inspects playground equipment daily and reports needed repairs.
8.
Performs other tasks and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
PHYSICAL CONTEXT OF THE JOB:
The individual in this position uses brooms, dust cloths, mops, power waxers, floor scrubbers, vacuumcleaners, waxes, cleaning agents, power tools and computer equipment.
Lifting is often required,sometimes heavy.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
